This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career with the Ultimate Driving Machine.  Working in our state of the art premises you will be reporting to the Dealer Principal, primarily responsible for the financial control of the dealership, maximising dealership profitability and maintaining an exceptional standard of customer care. 

Key Performance Areas:

Prepare and report financial statements to the Board of Directors, shareholders, BMW SA and external auditors

 

  • Complete monthly management reports

  • Prepare monthly management account pack

  • Prepare and complete various weekly, monthly and annual financial statements

  • Produce financial and management information (including industry trends, market analysis and benchmarking)

  • Maintain the integrity and reliability of the financial data

 

Prepare and complete financial budgets for the dealership in conjunction with departmental managers

 

  • Direct the organisations budgets to meet its financial goals, as outlined by the Board (budget conforms to board requirements)

  • Supervise cash management activities

  • Responsible for co-signatory of payments with Dealer Principal

  • Participate in annual departmental objectives and recommend short-term and long-term plans with respect to improving the effectiveness of assigned functions

Analyse and interpret financial information

  • Complete analysis of financial results using industry norms using ratios to compare business results

  • Interpret and analyse financial data to draw conclusions and trends from the financial analysis

  • Complete profit and loss analysis

  • Complete and update daily cash flow statement to establish company working capital requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation and timely filing of all internal accounting and financial reports for governmental and regulatory bodies

  • Accurately calculate and process VAT, provisional tax etc.

  • Establish internal controls, constantly seeking ways to increase and improve the participation with all departments in the use of accounting/financial information for planning and problem solving purposes within these users’ respective responsibilities

 

Manage and control the company’s administration and financial processes

  • Oversee the company’s issuance of credit

  • Establish credit-rating criteria

  • Determine credit ceilings

  • Monitor past due accounts

  • Review all capital expenditure requests from the standpoint of approval control and insure that required financial analysis has been completed where required for those proposals requiring senior management or board approval

  • Establish and manage the company’s system for delegation of authority with respect to expense approvals and capital expenditures approvals

  • Assist DP in developing dealership Financial Policy documents

Manage supplier and customer relationships

 

  • Approve loans and lines of credit

  • Maintain relationships with existing/potential customers to attract business, and assisting customers with account problems

  • Make payments promptly

  • Review debtors collection process

  • Attend to all escalated debtor inquiries

Attract, retain, appraise and develop staff (Department)

  • Recruit staff, preferably via BMW SA’s recommended recruitment process

  • Contribute to developing an enabling culture

  • Strive to retain talent

  • Develop succession plans for staff

  • Drive performance management

  • Coach and mentor junior staff

  • Ensure all staff are trained according to TNA

  • Conduct exit interviews

  • Acquire knowledge of Labour Relations Act
